Subject	Speed sensor question

Message	Speedometer stopped working and I get the typical HICAS light and heavy steering. The fluid level is where it should be. Search tells me it could be the speed sensor on the transmission or in the speedometer itself. Based on the HICAS light, I figure it is the speed sensor. ECU diagnostic flashed 55, but I pulled the speed sensor anyway. Voltage test was zero- so why didn't I get the speed sensor fault code 14 when I did the ECU diagnostic?
